One down…
Jesse and his travel-buddy Mike have now concluded their 48 Hours in Denmark. We’ve garnered quite a lot of good insights from the visit, as both of them are well versed in not only the digital aspects of experiences, but experiences in general.
What’s just as important is the face that they both enjoyed their trip, which we are very please about. That way their input will be of a more positive nature and free-thinking is always easier when you are at ease.
The next phase of the project is Jesse downmixing his video input into a short 2-min clip, that will contain all the best bits he’s recorded on the trip. Also there’s a Flickr stream and his own tumblr blog at www.hellodk.com.
Following Jesse’s visit we still have out two other teams, one from Holland and one from the UK - you know who you are

Weekend Confirmed
As our Twitter-followers will know Jesse (@jessedee) har arrived in Aarhus. He had an eventful journey and has now been handed a nifty new Danish sim-card, which will allow him to use his iPhone here. It’s already being put to good use as can be viewed at www.hellodk.com, which is his blog for the trip.
We’ll try to post a few updates here on the site, but most likely he’ll be quicker than us. In other word keep an eye on his blog and tweets for the latest.
Oh, and it’s a good evening to be in Denmark! Sun is shining, events around town. Catch you all later.
Jesse Will Be Arriving This Friday
As you may have noticed by now the blog is back up. You reading it now - yay you! This means that we are nearing the first visit from one of our contest winners, Jesse. He will be arriving this Friday afternoon and will be spending the weekend here with us in Denmark.
Hopefully Jesse will give us lots of great insights and ideas into the whole digital tourism field - and hopefully Jesse will have a great time here as well. The general idea is that he goes digi-media-nuts and publishes whatever content he likes. We will link to the things here. You will be able to follow the trip virtually and we’ll post the good stuff afterwards. Thoughts, ideas and creativeness to follow.
Currently Jesse is researching he trip and we are mining data from his searches, like the busy little miners we are (I actually do have miners some way back in my family, in case anyone is interested?). When he gets here we will stand back and let him loose. Maybe eat dinner with him to say hello and discuss things. Mostly, however, he is free to roam as he pleases.
So check back this Friday evening when we will start the weekend with a bang.
The Winners
The voting has ended and the winner has been revealed. To us, anyway, and now to you. As we discussed earlier there are several factors in play now, regarding who has won what and why.
The winner of the main contest, 48 Hours in Denmark, as voted by the users is: Jesse Desjardins!
Not only has Jesse made a great video showcasing his enthusiasm for digital travel, he also seems to “get” it.
Below is a direct screenshot of the votes and as you can see Jesse won by a fairly slim margin. But win he did. Congratulations and jubilations all round.
We’d like to offer our thanks to everyone who has participated, and good job to all. We got some great videos and have learned a great deal too.
Also, as we mentioned earlier, our project partners have also their favorites too. They will also be receiving a weekend in Denmark!
The winners of the most massive media storm are On The Ground: Philip Campbell and Christian Payne! Once again congratulations and celebrations.
The jury’s decision here is based on the amount of attention the two souls have drawn to the project and not so much the video. Their application post was the most visited (and commented on), but we can also see they’ve drawn a lot of visit and subsequently a few applications to the site. Kudos.
And the final winner, for yes, we’ve been allowed three, is the 48 24 Hours in Rotterdam: Lennart Mulder and Sarah van Hecken! Their charming video won over the judges and we offer our congrats.
Their idea show us how digital technology can be visualized differently and also how it reached into the “real” world.
All three winners have been contacted directly and details will be sorted with them individually. The fruits of their future labour will be visible on this site as soon as we get them underway. The futures of this web space will be a more travel-oriented site in general, where we focus on the digital futures of tourism.
